The PF6246A combines a Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller and a flyback PWM controller. It is suitable for flyback power supply with efficiency in a SOP16 package. With the feature of adjustable parameters, during the development of a power supply, it will speed up developing and help conquer various design challenges.
The PFC stage exhibits near−unity power factor (PF) and low total harmonic distortion (THD). It operates in voltage transition mode with frequency clamping in a certain range. The flyback stage features adjustable PWM frequency, near valley-lockout switching and jitter control circuitry. With those, it can achieve high efficiency and good EMI performance.
